The Best of the Best

Everybody has different tastes in beer. Our own likes and dislikes obviously affect how we rank or rate something, whether it s a beer or a movie. Seven different reviewers with different tastes have given me their top picks. Not to surprisingly there are duplicates among the choices. I've summarized the multiple pick breweries here. If you have limitted time, these are the ones you want to visit.

A note first -- I have not included any Bamberg breweries in this summary. There are a couple of reasons for this. Anybody visiting Bamberg for more than a day will probably visit most of the breweries in town. So a summary that included them probably wouldn't be all that helpful. Also, one of the reviewers is from Bamberg and I told him he couldn't pick any Bamberg breweries (because they would dominate the list). Both Brauerei Spezial and Schlenkerla had three picks.

I was a little surprised that the most picks a brewery had was three. I guess it goes to show there is a lot of good beer out there!
