This stylish microbrewery does different beers, all of them unfiltrated. You can buy them bottled (1l bottles) or from the tap. The Helles is really hoppy and delicious to drink, the Märzen is sweetish and fine, the Bock is, well, like a bock: Heavy and sweet. I'd go for the Helles Vollbier.

Visited for the first time yesterday, after reading in the internets that it was reopened in July after being closed for a year. Blonde and Sommerbier were a promising start for the new Bavarian-trained Californian Braumeister. Hopefully he'll do something more Californian in the future. Food is outstanding, though also not cheap. Beautiful place. New website at www (punkt) leuchtturm-gunzenhausen (punkt) de.

Reopened recently under new ownership and with new brewmaster. I visited the brewery last friday: Two different "Vollbier Hell", a dark beer and a 'very hoppy' beer called Hopfenzupfa were on tap. Dark beer: Sweetish and boring; Both Helle: Slightly sweetish and boring, too. The hoppy beer wasn't that hoppy at all. Up to now there are worlds in between the nice former beers and the newly brewed ones. Hope it'll get better... After all they brew again, which is a good thing anyway.
