Kommunbräu in Kulmbach
Comment from Tom Perera on 9/23/2004 6:35:01 AM
The helles was fine. What looked really good was the filled onions, which is a regional favorite. I watched my two fellow beer travelers work their way thru a couple, alas, I only had a thrist, at the time.

Adler-Bräu in Schlüsselfeld

Dropped in with Jos Brouwer on our way to Salzburg for a BierIG fest. Had a friendly chat over very good beer. Jos almost had to tear me away. I remember dreading more driving when we had the real stuff here.

Haven't been to the brewery But the bottled Pils is worth a try.

Brauerei Fischer in Greuth
Comment from Tom Perera on 8/16/2004 5:10:34 AM
Haven't been to the brewery, but had a chance to drink the Lager, Rauch & Weizen beers at the Opladen Bierbörse this year. Fischer had their own stand. The lager was the best beer of the day.

Schmitt Bräu in Schesslitz

I've stood sadly outside these locked doors a number of times. Maybe someday my luck will improve.

Brauerei Drei Kronen in Schesslitz

A friendly place with very fine beer. If you're in the area and you don't stop in.....it's just unthinkable.

Brauerei Rothenbach in Aufsess
Comment from Tom Perera on 5/30/2003 7:27:12 AM
A most amazing Pils! Had I not had a couple beer experts and "geeks" along who agreed with me, I might of thought it was just me. We also tried it bottled and it seemed even more aromatic! It was a love affair, can't wait to get back.

Brauerei Barth-Senger in Schesslitz

If you had shown me a photo of this uninteresting looking "livingroom" that serves as the brewery tap, I might have balked at going out of my way to visit it. Thank God no one did. Perhaps the best Lager in all of Franconia. I now visit that livingroom every chance I get.

Mahrs - Bräu in Bamberg

Here you FEEL beer tradition. Through the courtyard, in the hall and then the taproom. Look at the old worn oak. How many ages of man have sojourned here on their Earthly voyage.

Klosterbräu in Bamberg

I'm always surprised how good this place is. You slip back in time in this small rustic room.

Brauerei Spezial in Bamberg

Bamberg's best "U".

Brauerei Keesmann in Bamberg

Bamberg's best Pils.

Brauerei Fässla in Bamberg

Bamberg's best Lager and Bambergator, the best Bockbeer. This place has that magic that wipes away the world's problems and stills existance, leaving you at rest to meditate and ENJOY great beer.
