| Visited here on Saturday 06/19/10. Nice and easy to get to by pblic transport as it's only 5 minutes walk from Pretzfeld station on the Forchheim - Ebermannstadt branch line.
It was heaving when I arrived at 18:10 and had it not been for a sprint up the hill to get in front a large group I suspected were also heading for the pub, I wouldn't have got a seat, and even then I had to squeeze myself in on the end of a table.
I only had a a plate of Bratwurst whilst I was there as I had an hour between trains, but I soon wished I'd ordered a full dinner as the food looked superb. The beers were good, but I would not say legendary yet, but given the equipment I could see and comments from Frank that he is improving rapidly, it will be one to return to.
The bar is very nicely finished with pale wooden beams and trusses, and white walls. There is room for say 50 people inside and tales and benches aranged along the wall outside. If you want to eat here on a busy night I would suggest phoning ahead and reserving a table.
I would recommend this place to anyone and it would make a nice evening trip from Bamberg. Trains from Forchheim leave at XX.35 as a rule and the last one back is at about 21:00.

| wasn't allowed to try the beer last month as they now shut the doors at 1400. I have no idea what time they reopen as the door was lammed in my face as I approached the bar and locked up. Charming.
My gain though as I was able to catch a bus to Schlusselfeld from the nearby Schillerplatz, (number 207 at 1415) and visit Adler and Stern Brau's. |

| Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. Bus from Erlangen bus station (west side of the railway station - stand 1 and at 5 past each hour). Took 25 minutes. Get off at the stop after the DIY store and you are right by the pub.
Beer and Schnitzel was order of the day and well worth the trip. Cracking in every sense of the word. Will return as it's easy to get to and back from. I can see why Nick likes this place. It was very peaceful under the trees.
My only critisism of the place was that the garden had a very strange smell eminating from the hard earth floor. I don't know whether it was soaked with stale beer, or had been watered down to keep the dust down, with some wierd chemical. My bag (which I placed beneath the table) had to be washed on return to the UK to get the smell out of it. |

| back up and running after last years fire thanks to the combined efforts of the villagers sho all pulled together to ensure that the brewery remained as a functioning unit.
However, one down side is that the brewery tap no loner opens midweek. It is now only open from 1700 on Fri, Sat and Sunday's.
However, outside these hours they will sell you a bottle or two from the shop attached to the brewery. Very good it was too!! |

| Forgot to say the bus now is line 8319. Also the 1135 bus from Coburg ZOB, isn't advertised anyuwhere in te bus station, but it turned up regardless. Goes from stand B2.
I think because it's run by a private operator they think it doesn't need to be shown on the digital departure boards. |

| The bar in front of the brewery is now closed and has been for some time by the looks of it.
The brewey will sell you beer from the shop at the top of the ciurtyard, but I got the impression that although they advertise being closed from 12.00 to 13;00, they like a long lunch break here!
Buses run from Coburg and Bamberg on a regular basis (line 8319 now). |

| BUS connections much improved as long as you are travelling on a schoolday. there is a 1135 and 1145 bus from Coburg Bus Bahnhof (by the train station) and there is a bus back ouyt at 1314 allowing you over an hour to sample this funny little brewery.
Don't get caught out by this one if you don't gop on the above bus connections. They shut now for lunch!
Hours are now Mon, Tues and Thurs. 0900 - 1300 and 1530-2300. Closed Weds.
Fri to Sun 0900 - 2300.
Yet another bar where I was the only person. The Ada in charge was desperate to get me to have something to eat, and then when she realised I wasn't going to eat, to get me to leave after my first beer.
No such luck. I tried the only beer on draft which appeared to be the Pils. Very soft with a good fluffy head.
The bus from Birkach will drop you in Untersiemau and that allows you to try Br. Murmann.

| I liked this place. A bit of atmosphere in the bar, and for once I wasn't the only person in the place. They had a very good Helles but and even better Rauchbier. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get the name of the rauch, but it was so good I had 3 and almost missed the bus back to Bamberg.
You can get to Schlusselfeld on a bus that leaves Bamberg Bahnhof at 1300 and go back on a bus at 1610, which leaves you 2 and a bit hours to discover the delights of this lovely little market town. Well worth the time. |

I enjoyed the Adler beer. It was very soft and just to my liking. A place I would go back to again.
