Just two updates

You make a good point.  If there is one complaint I have about Jack's Abbey and most breweries in the US for that matteer is the constant need to expiriment issue which leads to many of them, including Jack's, going off the rails with some of their releases.  I agree with you about their sour beer expirimentation as well.  Doesn't really seem to fit what they're all about and they don't seem particularly good at it anyhow.  I much prefer Mystic in Chelsea, MA for a local brewery doing barrel aging, sour beers, etc.  At least it is their core business.

Your from N. Carolina?  For some reason I thought you were from Colorado.  Anyhow, I've got family that lives in Eastern Carolina that I often visit.  Swansboro to be exact.  I've shown them their local beer place (Harrikas).  Good beer bar for Eastern Carolina.  One big problem with sending you a homebrew is I only keg and never bottle.  I suppose I could bottle from the keg though (might flatten it too much though).  If I manage to brew anything I think worthy I'll gladly send you some.  I do my best at decoction mashing as part of the process and give my batches plenty of lagering time.
