What a huge loss. I discovered Franconia in 1980 thanks to his first edition "World Guide to Beer". In theory I was there (Fuerth/Nuernberg) to study economics, but my real education came from exploring all the great beers and places in his book. Michael opened a window onto a world of beer that few could imagine. He'll be missed. ---Guy
