New Maps -- Check them out |

| In the brewery database ("Browse Breweries") at the far right of the name line you see a link that says "map" -- if you click it, it will open a new window show the location of the brewery. Now this isn't new, that feature has been there for a while, using a German online map from Map24.de What is new is I have converted to use Google Maps. There are some neat features (I'll let you discover them :) ) and I hope to add some more. Why so long for the switch? Part of it has to due with Google's Terms and Conditions. At some point I was hoping to have a "premium subscription" with things like maps with GPS waypoints and possibly Frank Wetzel's opening times database. Google (understandably) doesn't want you to give you free access to their maps while you charge for access. So I held off switching. Anyway, I finally decided that was silly. So I switched to using Google maps. This is giving up a (potential) source of revenue to support the site. If you would like to help support it anyway, you can do so when you order goods from Amazon. If you click on the "Shop" link at left and then the Amazon box, I get a small commission (for which I thank you in advance). You can also help support the site by posting good information here and also helpful comments under each brewery. I'm also happy to publish on the main page anybodies more extensive travelogue.
