Little Diesel Trains

It's a diesel train, and though I haven't personally taken it, I've seen it run a couple of times as I've biked through the valley. It's modern, sort of a cross between an S-Bahn train and the new, über-slick RE trains. Like the one that runs from N-berg Nord(ost?)bahnhof up to Gräfenberg. But for the train-deprived North Americans like me, every different kind of train is a new experience. From Forchheim to E-stadt, there's usually an "older" diesel train, though lately we've seen a new one (like the Baunach line) running along it. Newer are of course better for bikes. They all blow *great* whistles though! I had to rummage around a bit, but here's a panoramic foto I made a couple of summers ago in the Wiesental, showing the Ebermannstadt train running toward(s) Forchheim, as it passes the Walberla hill, with its Celtic ruins and whatnot. In the extreme left is the St. Nikolaus Kapelle on top of the Reifenberg, upon which is also a splendid Keller pouring Greif (pity) beers. The center of the photo looks toward Ebermannstadt; Kirchehrenbach is the town in the foreground. Whoops...sorry, looks like tinypic resized the foto down to half the size I tried to post. Ah well. I'll email the original to whomever wants a copy. NowDrinking: My favorite Pils "zur Zeit", from Hebendanz. Absolutely splendidly hoppy. Actually my favourite Forchheimer Bier überhaupt.
