I do definitely not agree with that: within the hour the influence of the oxygen is having its bad effects on the taste. At the last GBBF Hubert Hanghofer from Austria wouldn't believe me that it happens this quickly, but he had to admit I was right. And as you already stated: there are indeed kegs stored overnight, and I can assure you that those beers will be next to undrinkable (unless you are not perceptive for the taste/flavour of oxydation, or are too used to it).
