Kompass does have other maps as well. Best recommendation for you is to pick up the Fritsch map #66 (http://www.fritsch-landkartenverlag.de/lkv/wkauschnitta2.htm scroll down) for Bamberg & Forchheim at Bamberg Bahnhof. I use my Fritsch maps more often than my Kompass; I can't say they're *better* in terms of accuracy, but I prefer their look and feel. The tourist office...don't know how much help they might be.
