OT: Berlin beer fest: Franconian representatives

First off, the Berlin fest is different than an English, American or Belgian beer festival. The organizer just rents out space and every brewery (or distributor) who wants to participate rents a plot and brings a booth (or beer trailer) and sets up shop. So for a small brewery a long way away it is a big deal -- you have to drive the trailer up and have enough people to man it for 3 days. All right in the middle of peak drinking time (summer). That being said, when I was there in 2005 there were a number of Franconian breweries -- Fischer (Greuth) and Brauhaus Barbarssa (Schöllkrippen) are two that I remember off hand, but there were others. For me the attraction was a chance to explore the beers of East Germany, which were (as you'd expect) very well represented. Its an impressive fest to visit and I can recommend it.
