| We're one step closer to a complete smoking ban nation wide: The "governers" of the 16 states agreed Friday that such a ban should be implemented. Niedersachsen and Nordrhein-Westphalen (Köln & Düsseldorf) want to include exceptions, namely to enable small Kneipen (pubs/bars) to declare themselves "Raucherlokale" (smoking establishments) and be listed with "R" in the phone book or something like that. The ban should include fines; in Bayern, possibly 250 per offence. There may be an announcement of a ban in public transit coming Wednesday. So...progress. |
