In a moment of desperation, i.e. looking at the rain pouring from a leaden sky, I booked a couple of tickets to Memmingen (Munich West!). On Nick B's recommendation, decided that Forchheim would make an interesting destination, particularly as we had already been to Bamberg and its northern environs a number of times.

But the next challenge was to find a fewo or, more accurately, to try to get a German fewo owner to reply to an email, something that has been a problem over the years. In desperation, I turned again to the redoubtable Nick and, lo and behold, he has managed to conjure something up for us. This is the power of the virtual Stamtisch! So, from August 27 to September 15, we will be in situ.

Really looking forward to visiting some of those kellers to the south of Bamberg and hoping beyond hope that we will have keller-wetter. Hope to see anyone who may be around at that time for a convivial seidla and to toast the virtual Stamtisch and its members!
