| Very true, Jurgen, Tommy is a great fiddle player and, more important, learned his music in the traditional manner, from his father, cousins and neighbours. Like many other players of more recent decades, he has diversified and ventured into other ventures, including, of course, membership of the Bothy Band and, during his time in North Clare, of the Kilfenora Ceili Band. But, a great musician by any standards.
My comment was more directed towards the generality than the specific. And, Mark, can't help with your enquiry: there are so many brilliantly technically accomplished young musicans nowadays that it is hard to keep up with them all - so I don't bother! |
