My summer bike ride...

| A good number of years ago, I rode from Dunkirk to Westvleteren with my (Belgian) brother-in-law. Although it was quite a few years ago, I still remember it fondly. If you can get to the monastery pub on a weekend, it is quite a sight and worth the effort.
You might also consider stopping in Roeselare (on the way to Oudenaarde). There is a pub there call de Zalm (http://www.dezalm-roeselare.be/) that serves both Palm and Rodenbach Foederbier from casks on hand-pumps. Warning: should you stop there, you may not want to continue to Oudenaarde! |
