Let's not forget that my comment was meant tongue-in-cheek, with the smiley and everything! AFA which method gets one from from MUC to Bamberg faster or cheaper goes...googlemaps suggests it's a 2-1/4 hour drive. Okay, you have to pick up and drop off the car as well, let's assume that takes an extra hour. It's either a 3 hour S-Bahn - ICE - RE trip with changes in Munich and Nuremberg, or a nearly 3-1/2 hour S-Bahn - ICE trip with one change in Munich, 63€ for either without discounts. Or a nearly 3-3/4 hour (or longer) trip by S-Bahn - RE - RE or Bus - RE - RE using the Bayern Ticket for 21€ or 29€. Not a *huge* difference in time either way, I see. And please, let's have no more discussion of washing clothes in hotel sinks! I really don't need or want that mental image. |
