If every town had a local brewery like this, I'd be a happy man. They make a Pilsner which is delicious even though it's actually a Helles. It's available just about everywhere in town. I like to drink it at the Gaststätte Am Kornmarkt near the brewery.

Einheitsbier, but not worse than others.

I always did like this beer. Odd though, the bottles in the geusthouses always seemed smaller then normal. Also, the absolute best of this was available in the city park where they served it on Saturdays out of a wooden keg. Or so I remember.

The Brauhaus Beer is so much better than the Roth Bier wich is also brewed in schweinfurt. You HAVE to try the delicious Pils beer and the refreshing Weißbier. If you want the best of Germanys Brewing Tradition, ask for a Brauhaus! I love the stuff!

Brewery purchased in the 80's (?)the Butner Brau in Bad Konigshofen. I hear that they recently discontinued using that name on the products. The Butner product was a very solid, excellant product. The wheat beer product was particularly good although the Pilzener was a friend of mine's favorite beer. My guess is that the Schweinfurt wheat beer is the same formulation and worthy of consumption.

I preferred Werner wheat beer when I lived in Schweinfurt, but Brauhaus for everything else. This was when Werner were still brewing, though.
