Franconia/bavaria/Germany non-smoking

That reminds me, what are the rules concerning non-smoking in restaurants, bars, pubs or whatever in Bavaria, and from what date? As the rules and dates are different for each Bundesland, maybe someone can tell us more about how it is in the other states?
