Need ideas for a Dec 07 Germany trip |

| Ah, so you've been around quite a bit. Not sure what else to suggest, other than give another Bamberg visit some thought--would make a *great* base for day trips, IMO, better than Nürnberg would. Rather embarrassed to admit it, but I've not yet been to the Dokuzentrum in N-berg, even though I hear nothing other than rave reviews about it. http://www.museen.nuernberg.de/dokuzentrum/index.html I like N-berg, and would recommend it as a destination for history buffs, if not so for beer buffs. There are a few fine pubs for beer in town, but that's about it. Zoigl: http://www.zoigl.de I've been to Zoiglland once, last fall, and found it lovely, though the beers on that particular weekend not particularly fascinating, and a couple were downright bad: sour. Everyone else I know of who's been *raves* about it though, so it's probably just me and my peculiar tastes. H-berg - N-berg is just over 3 hours. That's not *that* bad! Can't possibly imagine a bus trip being better. One connection is through Stuttgart. Any interest in that part of the country, or the Rheinland, north or south? Freiburg is absolutely beautiful, for one. |
